Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups plain nonfat Greek yogurt
- 2 Earl Grey tea bags, opened, or 2 teaspoons loose Earl Grey tea
- 2 slices hearty whole-grain bread
- 2 teaspoons honey, divided
- 1 medium orange, peeled and segmented
- 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon or orange zest, optional
- Pinch of flaky salt, optional
Instructions
- Stir the loose Earl Grey tea leaves into the Greek yogurt until evenly distributed. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight.
- For an extra-thick spread, spoon the infused yogurt into a fine-mesh strainer lined with clean cheesecloth or a coffee filter and set it over a bowl in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. Skip this step if your yogurt is already very thick.
- Toast the whole-grain bread in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes per side, until crisp and golden.
- Spread half the Earl Grey yogurt over each slice. Top with orange segments, 1 teaspoon honey per toast, optional citrus zest, and an optional tiny pinch of flaky salt.
- Serve immediately while the toast is crisp.
Notes
- Use finely cut Earl Grey tea leaves for the smoothest texture.
- If your tea is very strong, start with 1 tea bag and increase next time if needed.
- Nutrition is estimated with plain nonfat Greek yogurt, whole-grain bread, honey, and one medium orange.
- Keep the yogurt refrigerated throughout the infusion and straining process.
