A viral sweet-sour soda made with cold Dr Pepper, dill pickle brine, pickle chips, ice, and optional jalapeño or lime.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 drink

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (12-ounce) can cold Dr Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dill pickle brine, plus more to taste
  • 3 to 4 dill pickle chips
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 thin jalapeño slice, optional
  • 1 lime wedge, optional

Instructions

  1. Fill a tall glass with the ice.
  2. Pour in the cold Dr Pepper slowly and allow the foam to settle.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon dill pickle brine and stir gently once or twice.
  4. Add the pickle chips. Taste and add more brine 1 teaspoon at a time if you want a stronger pickle flavor.
  5. Add the optional jalapeño slice or squeeze in the optional lime wedge. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Pickle brine sodium varies widely by brand, so start with 1 tablespoon and adjust gradually.
  • The nutrition estimate uses regular 12-ounce Dr Pepper; a zero-sugar version has different nutrition.
  • Use dill pickle brine rather than sweet bread-and-butter pickle juice for the most balanced flavor.
  • Serve immediately for the strongest carbonation.
